The Wedding Garden...

C and R are engaged...

Our Daughter was engaged last April....
Soon after she decided she wanted color,
lots of color for the September wedding.
I told her we could plant a garden
and have a lot of flowers.
So, that is exactly what we did.
We dubbed it the Wedding Garden
and it has been a labor of love....
They had some of their
engagement pics taken in the garden.
We used bouquets for the shower.
I gave bouquets away and
I had fresh flowers all
summer long...
Cosmos, Dahlias, snapdragons,
zinnias, bachelor buttons, celosia,
salvia, roses, hydrangeas, gladiolas.
It has been such and enjoyable
DIY project, and saved us a
boat load of $$$, which is always
a great thing. The only flowers that
didn't make it until
the end of Sept. wedding day
were my snap dragons.
I did all the large bouquets
for the altar, and several more for other
places around the reception. We popped flowers
into 180 or so colored glass bottles
for all the centerpieces.
We took all the flowers for the maid's
bouquets, the guy's boutonnieres,
and wrist corsages to a local florist
who made those up for us.
This morning I picked what I believe
will be the last bouquets of the season.
I'm sure it will frost
in the next few days...
I have added the following photos
to look back on and enjoy
through out the winter months.
I hope you enjoy them too!
